Another month just passed by ….
Health wise, leg wasn’t as painful before but hand is getting painful from typing. Overworked burnout Asian.
My leg wasn’t painful, probably because I didn’t walk as much before. Barely hit 10,000 steps on most days. Partly busy, partly avoiding the sun.
Gaining weight because of inactivity and binged eating.
Still playing Pokemon but it is feeling like tasks rather than hobby. Barely touch piano tiles nowadays.
Spent $$$ on online shopping. But, so far, I am liking and using the stuff that I bought. Also, been buying many products to protect face such as moisturiser, mist, screen protectors.
Managed to read two books despite being busy.
Also, stepped into the cinema for the first time this year to watch Crazy Rich Asian. The best part of the movie is the first 5 minuets .
Have an extremely short vacation doing nothing.
Next month, need to eat healthily, sleep more and exercise more. Taking care of myself instead of pouring myself into never ending work.
Didn’t update this blog for more than a month.
How I spent my May :
Been working extremely hard. Busy does not equal to productivity. So much things are not up to my control.
Bringing parents for medical checkups.
Usually eat alone with low expectations of food. But happy that do have gatherings with old friends, new colleagues and family members.
Still playing Pokémon. Been going many places just to spin new pokestops just for the extra points. Been catching and raiding to catch shinies with no success. Been watching concerts. Been overseas for holidays and staycation with family. Walk too much for this game.
Binged watch 愛。回家.
Read a few books, including Invoices which is about invoice for emotions.
Played in the pools although I can’t swim.
Cycled for two hours. Tiring but happy.
Just read an article of a book titled Crazy Rich Asian, written by Kevin Kwan, a descendant of an OCBC banker. Background of the story is set in Singapore, about very rich people. The book is a bestseller and is going to be made into a movie. I might borrow the book from the library. Not incline to buy book at the moment, mainly no space. Besides, I have reservation contributing money if the book portrays a negative image of Singapore. The Singapore I grew up in is a country where most people work for a honest and humble living. I might be wrong and ended up loving the book.
I first heard about Crazy Rich Asian from Ryan Higa’s Twitter asking Asian to audition for roles. I didn’t pay much attention to it then because I have very little interest in the life of Asian American, filthy rich or dirt poor. In fact, I am put off that people from various ethnic group and various culture of the Asia continent is pigeonholed into a group called Asian in USA. Chinese, Japanese, Korean are different. Philipinos, Indonesian are different. Indian, Sri Lankan, Pakistani are different.
Anyway, hope that the book is good and the movie is successful. For a start, I respect that the movie make a stand by not whitewashing the roles.
I want to start jogging again.
