十年之前，我在旋轉餐廳看著夜景，享受龍蝦大餐，迎接千禧年。一轉眼，十年就過去了，世界動蕩不安的十年。自身也換了居住環境，工作場所，工作夥伴，多了兩個可愛的至親。
電腦換了幾個，擁有了上世紀不普及的手機，不存在的MP3，MP4，淘汰了walkman。 Youtube 是我主要娛樂。當年必須到牛車水買港報, 現在庸才不出門，上網也能知天下事。 當年在没丰富娛樂選擇的年代，讀了金庸，倪匡的小説，帶給我了很多樂趣。現今，很難了。
十年之前的更久之前，我很喜歡喜歡周星馳，對他的評論，票房，非常的耿耿于懷。現在已經學會抽離，不把偶像當自己宇宙的全部。 但我還是默默支持他，雖然他被万箭穿心，而且也永遠不會知道我的存在。現在，我很欣賞陳亦迅，五月天，林宥嘉，玄彬，但已經沒有以前那種沉迷的熱情。
曾經爲了意大利十二嗎罰球失敗而心碎，終于盼到他們贏世界杯。我不期望意大利在這未來的十年贏世界杯。知足。
以前從不寫日記，但現在寫日記也寫部落各。
我就用這篇文章跨了年。
2010已經到來，不知下個十年會這樣，但太陽早上依然升起。
1979 – the end of my childhood. Those happy kampong years. Nowadays, people spent money to travel to non-city area where there are no TV, no handphone,….. you can have all this for free if you are born poor. I remembered those starry, starry nights, free display of parachutes, fireworks, living in atap house without fans, vegetable fields, pineapple, chiku, soursop, rambutan, mango and coconut trees, farm of chicken, ducks, geese, goats, randam snakes, turtles, squirrels, rabbits, sunrise., playing zeropoint everyday,walking home from school and pass by a shop that sold Mona Lisa portrait. Move to a flat in that year.
1989 – what a year. 4 June Tiananmen and 9 Nov – the fall of Berlin Wall. I remembered the people standing on the Berlin wall side by side, holding hands…such hope for mankind. Tiananmen – 20 years on, quite disappointed that all the TV stations tried to downplay and airbrush this significant history away. I just watched the man facing the tanks on youtube and I teared. I can’t remember a single thing about myself in 1989. Whatever worries I have then, I just do not remember now.
1999 – the year before the Y2k doom. Was busy compiling reports after reports that all our customers were y2k ready. Reports that nobody read. A significant part of the year was spent on papers that nobody read. What a waste of time and paper. So much stress to churn rubbish.
2009 – the company has come up with more reports and dealine to comply with. No matter how the management try to stress the importance, it is just meaningless data filling exercise to me. Again, I have to stress over such meangingless task. The last 3 years were quite horrible years for me but in 10 years times, all this troubles will be insignicant.
I’m sure the company will come up with some meaningless reports in 10 years time, provided all the papers generated for such nonsense does not end the world.
